I’ve actually never heard of mustard oil. I actually don’t cook that much. I bake, so when it comes to oil it’s generally a plain Jane canola. I’m going to have to try that mustard oil though! I make this chicken dish (that I’ve been craving lately) containing chicken breast, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, mozzarella cheese, and olive oil. Maybe I’ll try the mustard with this one day.
Hey sugardellipses. Mustard oil is a great oil to cook in. It gives a distinctive taste to any dish prepared. However, one thing to keep in mind when cooking with mustard oil is to first cook the mustard oil to remove the rawness. Let the oil heat up properly till it almost starts smoking before you put anything in it. Best of luck for your new dish.
Olive oil any time but not extra virgin on cooking extra virgin is to have raw when it is best. Rico-Recipes
I usually cook with canola and grapeseed oils; I use olive oil only when I am sauteing very lightly or in dressings and marinades.
